in the mall there is a company called carline resarch.

they give basically anyone a job wearing a red blazer(company provided) and have them venture out in the mall asking people if they would like to take a survey.

since it is an easy one day job and they hire just about anyone the strangest people get the job. i have seen many of them look like they are homeless covering their dirty clothes under a freshly dry cleaned red blazer.

it is my theory that the resarch is not actually in the surveys they recieve completed but in the people they hire.

one of them positions herself outside our doorway and winks and smiles at me periodically. another asks me for a cigarette everytime i pass her even though everytime i say i do not smoke. sometimes i pass her several times daily. another one looks at me angrily when i refuse to take his survey even though every time i tell him i work in the mall and therefore do not have the time to stand and wait for his questions.

they are very scary people and i dont like the pity i feel for them when i see them. i have been told pity is not a good thing. i like to make up life stories about them and share them with my coworkers. abusive fathers, drug binges, stock market crashes anything that might explain how they ended up in their red blazer standing with a clipboard in the mall.
